George Slatter died from wounds on 5th October, 1916, while a prisoner of war but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded or captured. The 20th London battalion was part of 141 Brigade, 47th Division that had been on the Western Front since March 1915 and had been engaged in the Battle of the Somme during the summer of 1916. |
